Alchemy CLOTHO Elemental Oil + Hydrosol

These elections were made in herbal infused elemental oils and elemental hydrosols(hydrosols are like body sprays, infused with herbs).

Clotho is made with the intention of balancing sun/moon energies, by alchemizing the light and the dark, masculine and feminine archetypes. Some background here first:

The Fates, also known as the Morai, are the weaving goddesses that assign fate and destiny to mortals at birth. The role of the three fates were commonly explained through the metaphor of weaving cloth. Their names are Clotho (the spinner). Clotho would spin the threads of life, Lachesis (the alotter) would measure the cloth, and Atropos (the inflexible) would cut the cloth. Each of the three fates had different tasks. Clotho spun the thread of life, Lachesis measured the allotted length, and Atropos cut it off with scissors, which is how they spun, weaved, and cut a mortal's destiny. Sometimes the fates were represented by time: Atropos-the past, Clotho- the present and Lachesis- the future. Clotho was the youngest of the three fates.

The Fates were goddesses of immense power, as they were the only goddesses to work outside of Zeus sphere of influence. In mythologies, he never interferes with the Fates, the power of their divine femininity cannot be touched by anything or anyone, which is something that personally has drawn me to the Fates. The sister who spun the cloth, Clotho- decided when and where each mortal was born. Thus she had a major impact on the life each mortal had the potential to live. She also possessed the authority to determine the fate of gods and mortals.

Clotho was especially powerful, since she could effectively revive any god she felt didn’t deserve death. As the spinner of the life thread, Clotho played a pivotal role in determining the beginning of life, symbolizing the inception of destiny and the potential of every mortal and god. She is the weaver of our fate. Clotho represents the start, the creative process from nothing to something. She is the starter of ideas, which takes imagination. She is the initiator of the idea, the creator of the fated birthing process, and the fated rebirthing process, which is one and the same.

Astrological Profile-

I closely link the fates to the nodes of destiny- the north node. The north node represents the knowledge we need to gain to move forward in our lives destiny. The North node is very unfamiliar and uncomfortable because of the aspects of ourselves we need to develop. The south node represents our karmic past, which is what we came into this new life already familiar with. We know this side of ourselves- but we will not evolve or grow if we stay in our South node. The key is to use the familiarity of our south node and incorporate it into the progress we need to achieve to become our north node's destiny. This is why I’ve chosen Clotho for their archetype of this created election.

The Aries The New Moon at 29 degrees, an anaretic degree representing karmic rebirths guided by the hands of fate. The new moon represents the beginning of the lunar cycle. (The new moon is to set fresh intentions in the expectation that, with attention, time, and energy, they will be realized by the full moon.) The new moon being an Aries New moon makes this so much more transformative, as the archetype of Aries symbolizes the “Spark of Life”, the first pulse of creation! A fire sign, the first element, and a cardinal sign, the first mode. Aries is the vital source- the very first something that emerges from nothing. It’s the creation- Clotho herself.

The sister sign to Aries is Libra. The archetype of Libra shines “light” on Aries, and vice versa. The ultimate goal is to incorporate the two halves to create a whole.

Aries- The willpower, the self- the war within the self,  the COURAGE, the cultivation and development of the self. 

Aries, under the dominion of Mars, embodies the essence of willpower and self-determination. This new moon was an annular hybrid eclipse moon on the Aries/Libra axis. It’s said that during an annular eclipse, you can still see the light around the sun, which provides clarity. The change/transformation, the war within ourselves, and the collective consciousness was highlighted. At the time of the hybrid eclipse on April 20th, 2023, there was an Aries stellium in the realm of the self-conjunct chiron( our wounded healer), Jupiter( abundance), the sun, moon, north node, and Arachne( the weaver). The eclipse was conjunct asteroid Vesta( attending to your eternal flame and the divine feminine reclaiming her energy). The nodes were squaring pluto (triggering a call to action by transforming the karmic past). Trining the eclipse to create a balance, the galactic center (the cosmic consciousness), and Persephone (an archetype of death and rebirth, the balance between the underworld and the otherworld, the light and the dark, finding the balance to become whole).

HERBAL CORESPONDANCE-

This election was created using the same herbs as the Eclipsis Election, but added herbs and oils to represent the creative, transformative energies of Clotho to aid in rebirth and the transformation process in a courageous, powerful and determined way.
